Session_Drafts

  • Start with BB receiving the sword, Triumph

  • BB finished forging together his Mythril armour

  • News of The Great Hunt reaches Constanbul

  • Kostas asks that no customers are sent from Vermandois

  • Mycean Empire is preparing to trade embargo Vermandois due to strained relations

  • Some don’t agree, others agree due to the destabilising effects of the war

  • Inside the adventurer’s guild, very busy (100s) due to info about the Great Hunt

    • Also due to the promise of gold and renown
    • Also items of great historical importance (Dark Seals)
    • BB realises that most adventurers with magical powers tend to go to the colleges of Wizardry instead of the adventurers guild
    • Not uncommon for quests about undoing work of the Fixers
      • Retrieving stolen items
      • Investigating attacks
    • Clerk mentions there is a new request that just came in
      • A request for assistance in figuring out what happened at the museum
      • Issued by the Constanbul constabulary looking for assistance with magical detection
      • Accept the request for assistance and will stop off on the way
  • At the Altisian Embassy we see the environment and buildings becoming much more expensive and regal

    • Behind the Embassy is the royal grounds, surrounded by a 20ft massive stone wall
    • A beautiful stone engraved and embellished stone buildilng as a part of the campus
    • No pings of scrying or anything are sensed walking around the grounds
    • J’s detect magic spell only detects within the walls, and cannot penetrate them
    • People walking around are wearing gowns, a cross between wizard robes and graduation gowns
    • No hats are being worn either, but in old photos there are some
    • A cat is sitting on a desk
      • Black cat, yellow eyes wearing a wizard hat and robes, and talking with the admission staff about potential early admission
      • Admission begins next month for the next year’s intake
      • On the cat is an aura of divination, ‘Comprehend Languages’
      • Sounds like Matthew Berry
    • Speaking with the clerk, they are always looking for working business relationships
      • Kostas gave a referral so we mention him
      • They are very intrigued that he was willing, and that someone was able to merge and craft magical items, and the Ambassador is interested
      • They can provide a meeting with the Ambassador, with regards to the teleportation circles, and connections with Schmeid Mead at 1pm
    • Conversation shifts to the magical cat, ‘Binks’, a Wizard of great power
      • He mentions he wants to join the College, but doesn’t meet the age requirements
      • A referral to the Ambassador makes him bery happy
      • He is a fan of mead, and likes the idea of Schmeid Mead
      • Is staying in the tavern ‘The Itchy Lion’, but doesn’t have much coin to his name
      • He is struggling to find work in the city
      • Luc convinces him to work for Schmeid Mead in return for College sponsorship
      • Is an enchantment wizard, and specialises in making people ‘malleable’
  • At the Museum of Constanbul

    • A very fine buildling, with a group of constabulary outside the building
    • A few detectives are talking inside the grounds
    • We hear, ‘we don’t have any idea how they might have even done it’
    • Suppositions that the Fixers are involved
    • Demetrios Papadopolos is the lead investigator
    • Introduces us to the main patron of the museum, ‘Katherine von Ringkobing’
      • Relatively tall woman in a big flowy gown/dress
      • Dark hair and pale skin
      • Quite beautiful noble woman
      • The party introduces themselves as
        • Brother Blingus
        • Oscar von Schmeid
        • Alzrarth
    • Sometime yesterday, unclear when, an item was stolen with no witnesses
    • Should tell High Cleric Bambathir that all religious items are accounted for
    • Clearly displayed in the central dais is the holy sword of Khorne, Triumph
    • The item that was stolen was relatively small
      • In Wing B, typically for items without a specific themed collection
      • She mentions that the stolen item could have been a cover for something else being stolen
      • Museum description
        • Many years ago during the age of strife the college of Altis gifted a number of items to the Mycean crown to solidify their cooperation or independent status as being affiliated but not integrated with the empire
        • It appears that in the times when the college was founded they essentially provided a number of gifts, and this is one of them
        • The item is described as simply being a small but very fancy mundane compass
        • To their knowledge the compass has been broken for a very long time, so they don’t know why the item would have been stolen
        • The item has no magical properties as was simply a token of good will between the izards the the royal house
      • One of the other items in the display case is a very old and dus5ty looking wizard hat
      • A few other items related to the agreement forged between the wizards and the empire, first emperor of the empire, Gregoras the First
      • The name of the founder was lost to their records, only known as ‘the Dean’
    • Looking at the display case, it is only locked with a key
    • They mentioned they haven’t touched the display case at all
    • Investigating the lock, there are no signs of tampering
    • The item was retrieved from the lock without using the key or opening the lock
    • There are guards stationed in all rooms of the museum, and they didn’t see anyone do anything sus
    • In the mid to late afternoon the item was there when they started their shift
    • The upcoming festivities means there are more people in the museum than normal
    • Detect magic doesn’t detect any currently active spells, but detects the residual hints of transmutation magic occurring
      • Luc senses that it was a very powerful spell, because two different transmutation spells were cast here
      • One was very basic spell, but the other is being interfered with by a spell ‘as powerful as it gets’
      • Very likely that they cast ‘Time Stop’
      • The second spell was a cantrip
    • On mentioning that 9th level magic, time stop, was used, the blood drains from their faces
    • Exploring area 4 for item of Nordlandish origin
      • Multiple artworks and textiles
      • Similar clothes and textiles with patterns as El wore
      • There are a number of artworks from Nordland, but one draws Jorgrim’s eye as it is related to dragons
      • The plaque identifies it as named ‘Draconic Lineage’, with unknown artist and location
      • Dated to 100 years BB
      • Depicts a large gathering of dragons, dozens, within an icy mountain basin during the age of empires
      • All metallic dragons, as well as a few people
      • In the centre of the gathering is an enormous Silver Dragon presiding over
      • Very likely the Ancient Nordland Silver Dragon, and already ancient in the painting
      • Some families in Nordland have silver hair, and that is due to an ancient link to Draconic heritage
    • Gallery 5 is for extra-continental items
      • A heavy bias to art from Iberia, likely due to the Mycean empire stretching into Iberia
      • Iberian continent is very heavily dominated by familial and clan ties between groups
      • \All artwork comes from the landmass
      • In Goethia, region 2, people mostly stick to the rivers and don;t travel to the internal wilds
      • Area 4 is a Steppe land with a mobile horse culture, and separated by mountain ranges
        • There are some cultural ties between them and region 5, Toshiie
      • Areas 8 and 9 are the least civilised areas of the supercontinent
        • Very little trade between those regions and the rest
        • Aparently there are many more elves in these regions, and it is likely the homeland of elves
        • A lot of the region is covered by wildlands
    • Gallery 9 is Pax Mycea, painted by Gregorios Gregorio in 789 AB
      • Depicts the founding myths of the Mycean empire with the first Gregorias emperor being crowned
      • Surrounded by the personifications of the major states
      • Nobles, Royals and Craftsmen, and the churches of Bathirus and Khorne opposite
    • Gallery 7 is related to ancient artworks from the Age of Strife

        • Describes the discovery of the blade of the horned rat and its effects
        • Displays a sword causing havok
        • Very clearly a religious context
        • Donated by the temple of Khorne to the museum
      • Painting - The foundation of all Knowledge, 1167 Janos Mycea, Genova
        • Relates to the Altisian College of Wizards
        • Depicts the first stone laid for the college
        • In the painting the person laying the stone is familiar
        • The elven adventurer
        • One of the people depicted might be the smiling wizard
    • Gallery 6
      • Huge Painting 50x50ft - Titled by Museum, Painting of the fall of Nullimell, ~1066 AB
        • unknown painter
        • Huge red beam, surrealist
        • Bottom half with city in ruins and blight
        • Top half with streets filled with corpses and people rising as Ratmen
        • Like nothing any of the party has seen
        • The artist had to conceptualise the incident in a way mortals can understand
        • THe incident pushed the artist into a surrealist style in an effort the draw it
        • Detect magic senses behind the canvas ink that registers as magical
          • Only in the bottom left corner, invisible ink that bears two initials
          • E.D. (Gurpo, Elvington Daniels)
    • Overhear Katherine saying, “we never should have moved it into the other wing”
    • The display used to be in Wing A, where there were a lot more guards
    • Binks says, he might be able to help
      • He has the spell Legend Lore
      • When he shows his coin purse the party detects a coin with scrying, similar to the Fixers
      • The party waits for Binks to get the items required for Legend Lore
    • Jorgrim casts locate object on the missing Compass but doesn’t find it
    • Possibly Gurpo did the crime, we followed them to Constanbul, they are a high level caster
    • Scrying on Gurpo shows Gurpo walking down a road
      • Walking North towards a crossroads, pauses to take the compass out of her pocket
      • She looks down at it, then looks at the crossroad and walks right
      • Surface thoughts are “will I get there in time”
      • She sees the scrying orb, but doesn’t destroy it as Luc writes ‘pocketwatch’ with the orb
      • Gurpo says “meet me in Aleal” then disperses the orb
  • BB goes to the Silver Trout Inn and gives a secret passcode

To Do

Lore

  • During the age of strife many magical swords were used
  • there are multiple Holy Swords of Khorne and the other gods
  • All were lost to time
  • Binks’ eyes did cast charm person, but it affected 2 individuals
    • This is an enchantment wizard ability
    • Means that Binks is definitely an enchantment wizard
