Full Session Notes

  • Awakening early in the Magnificent Golden Spirit Pagoda, Luc and Jorgrim conspire and draw 7 cards from the Deck of Many Things after Luc asks Saidar the order of the deck

  • Luc gains the benefits of the Sun, Moon, and Throne cards, and Jorgrim draws Comet, Star, Jester, and The Fates

  • After finishing their long rest, The Party heads towards Azrea hoping to make it to the Conclave in four days

  • After crossing over the Wildlands mountains into the Mycean Empire side The Party can see the coast around Akchek

  • While walking down the mountains and through the foothills, Luc senses his is being watched by a cloaked figure, approximately 500m up the mountain

  • Jorgrim steals a glance at the figure, and assumes from their varied garb and weaponry that they are a rogue, but perhaps also a brigand

  • Stealthing away from the scouts sight, The Party encounters an ambush where a party of brigands has felled a tree across the road

  • After dismantling the brigand band The Party finds a large sum of gold from a robbed caravan and adventurer, along with a series of letters and reports

    • The reports outline the brigands as a member party of The Fixers, along with another group nearby they are in contact with, and have received orders to plunder this route as a punishment
    • The reports say 1000gp was robbed from the caravan guarding gold of the Azrean branch of the Mycean Bank, and a further 400gp taken from a slumbering half-elf adventurer
    • The letters also suggest that the headquarters that send both groups of The Fixers out here has not been in contact for a month, leading to worry on behalf of the brigands
  • Six hours later The Party arrived at Azrea, a walled and strongly defended small town of approximately 5000 people

  • Luc ventures to the Mycean Bank branch and returns the stolen gold in exchange for the 150gp posted reward for info, and a letter recommendation for his burgeoning business Schmied Mead

  • Jorgrim meanwhile heads to the cheapest tavern, the Dancing Mare after hearing a robbed adventurer is drowning his sorrows at the bar

  • After a short conversation, Jorgrim returns the stolen gold to the adventure, who introduces himself as Tamarill Draydon, a wandering level 7 druid from Draymora

  • As Luc returns, he offers Tam with employment at Schmied Mead as the Head of Horticultural Science as an opportunity to settle down

  • Other members in the bar pass around talk of trade deal renegotiation with Vermandois, along with rumours of unrest in Aradon jokingly suggesting a second Arad Spring

  • They also speak of the upcoming Feast of Bathinalia, supposed to be especially decadent in Constanbul

  • Leaving Azrea with Tam in tow, The Party heads towards Guzan, and Bingus Bongus awakens from his temporal slumber

  • Channelling his remaining Vizier card, Bingus Bongus, like Luc, asks for the order of the Deck of Many Things, and, due to a lucky twist of fate, can draw 11 cards in a row

  • From this draw, Bingus Bongus gains the Sun, Star, Vizier, Idiot, Throne, Key, Rogue, and Knight cards, while Luc, Jorgrim, and Tam draw The Fates, Moon, and the Balance cards respectively

  • From these cards Bingus Bongus learns his Key weapon is hidden in a vault in Constanbul, and Tam’s alignment is changed to Lawful Neutral

  • Further up the road The Party encounters a Wyvern, which Jorgrim summarily destroys in two turns of single combat with massive criticals and the help of Gurpo’s Icebox

  • After arriving in Guzan, The Party finds the town is absolutely packed with travellers heading along the Mycean Ring Road towards Akchek and so they hunker down in the Jolly Jester tavern

  • Luc and Jorgrim split off and head to the Howling Cleric, the seediest bar around, for info on The Fixers and encounter an extremely sus barkeep, Nikos Antoniadis

  • Luc, under the guise of a Fixer, forges a caravan licence for a bar-goer, and is offered more jobs by Nikos Antoniadis

  • On turning him down, the barkeep asks Luc to pass on the news that the Howling Cleric is looking for The Fixers to complete more jobs with the influx of merchants

  • While spending the night at the Craftsman’s Hammer, The Party receives a note of referral to Kostas Cosmelis, the foremost master smith of magical items in Constanbul

  • After 3 hours of travel, The Party arrives in Akchek only to find it even busier than Guzan

  • A variety of conversations and titbits are overheard

    • Farmers are heading onwards the Theodes where the FFFFF, the Federation of Farmers, Farriers, Fighters, and Fiefs are in control
    • A carriage of nobles is bemoaning their inability to contact their Fixers contacts
