Full Session Notes
- Session begins in Neustrelitz, as The Party heads to Stuttden, to cross into Wallonia
- Opposite direction to all traffic, which heads South-East towards the War front
- In Stuttden we head to the Temple of the Great Guide, the only people capable of making healing potions
- buy four health potions for 100gp each
- Priest sells potions, and gives rumours that his brother in Ebenbrooke, Wallonia says they are experiencing lowered potion stocks despite not partaking in the war
- The Party decides to take the Kings’ Road through the night to Antren
- Stop at the Terrific Nut Tavern for room and board, and speak with barkeep Freek Bootsveld
- Says many merchants are staying longer than normal, due to the gate traffic build-up
- Overhear a merchant discussing the increase in glass purchasing by Temples of the Great Guide in Wallonia, despite not participating in the war
- Overhear an adventurer talking about a quest listing at the Guild with suspicious murders
- Resummoned Zethios as a fire drake
- Sleep one hour with Luc’s sleepy sack, before sneaking out of the town towards the country road where the murders took place
- After Luc breaks stealth, we fight the invisible creature in an open clearing
- The creature avoids many attacks due to stealth before hunting Bingus Bongus
- Jorgrim tempts fate and rolls three Nat 1’s
- The first strikes Bingus Bongus in the face with a rapier
- The second flings a crossbow bolt towards Bingus Bongus’s face, before being rerolled by the Bad Luck Bauble into the third
- The third is magically rerolled by the Bauble again, finally striking down the creature
- The creature turns out to be a wind elemental, and drops an “earth grade wind attuned immortal essence core”
- The Party continued down the Kings’ road to Ebenbrooke and waited two hours until dawn, when the gate opened
- Met an historian and archivist called Twan Stirt who specialises in ancient architecture
- We give him the location of the Ziggurat of Shaidarahn, which he has been searching for
- In return, he identifies the location of the Ziggurat of Gurpo, our quest location
- He also says historical records and statues indicate wizards pre Age of Strife wore large hats, vindicating Ignatius Pabst’s fashion sense
- One of his colleagues from the University of Rotterden tells us one of the Chosen is likely in the Blight south of Wallonia
- This coincides with strange Ratmen behaviours, like a reduction in expected attacks on Blight-touched regions
- The Blight follows the mountain ranges in South Wallonia and below Draymora and Guilanyth
- The mountain ranges are scars of massive magic during the Age of Strife
- Tells Luc that his Mystical Amulet is a religious item of Saidar
- Something to do with divination magic, should take it to a Church of Saidar
- Informed the Adventurer’s Guild about the traffic backlog entering Stuttden
- Complete Trader Traffic Turmoil
- Rewarded 100gp, and a favour from the Adventurer’s Guild
- Also hand in the wind elemental core and complete Antren Arcane Attacks
- Rewarded 75gp
- Complete Trader Traffic Turmoil
- Found the priest’s brother in the Temple of the Great Guide
- Passed the city of Rotterden and arrive at the trading hub town of Argennin
- Continued on and arrive at the walled town of Besanlon at nightfall
- Stayed in the Singing Geese Inn
- Informed by Adventurer’s Guild that there is less Ratmen activity in the area, possibly due to actions of the Chosen
- No traders from Brittany have come through the mountain pass to Fort Dranin in the last two weeks
- Stay the night a resummoned Zethios as a poison drake
- Woken in the early morning by warning bells and shouts of “RATS!!”
- Over the wall we can see an army of Ratmen, led by larger creatures heading to the city
